ALL MONEY RAISED AT THE CHILI COOK-OFF STAYS IN HANCOCK COUNTY TO HELP LOCAL CANCER PATIENTS.
The Chili Cook-Off is Cancer Patient Services’ signature fundraiser that accounts for over 20% of the agencies budget! That means that all the money from this fundraiser stays within Hancock County and helps local cancer patients throughout their journey.

​*Please note that this is first come first serve and we only host 20 teams for this event. If you do not make it onto the roster for this year we will add you to the waitlist for 2021. ​
When a client comes to CPS for support after a diagnosis it takes $2,500 to get them through their first year of treatment.

CPS is an independent non-profit which means we rely on donations to provide the support for Hancock county cancer patients and their families.

In February of this year, CPS was notified of a $60,000 reduction from our largest grant. Because of this reduction, we had to make some cuts to the agency.  We reduced our office space at The Family Center, we did not fill an open position. 

Unfortunately, we also had to reduce the amount of financial assistance and nutritional supplements we provide for our clients.  The programming cuts were the most difficult for our agency.  Our goal is to return our programs and services to their previous levels.  To do that, we need to re-evaluate our funding streams.

Chili Cook-Off is our major fundraiser.  This year we raised a little over $XX,XXX.  Our goal is to increase that amount to $100,000 in 2021.  This is where we need your help!

For Chili Cook-Off 2021 we are asking our teams to tray to raise at least $1,000. 
Here are the details:
  • To reserve your team slot, your team will need to once again pay the $100 registration fee. The registration fee will count towards your $1,000 fundraising goal.
  • Your $1,000 team fundraising dollars can be achieved several ways; selling raffle tickets, becoming a $1,000 (or higher) event sponsor, donations from friends and family, jeans day at work, or in-house chili cook-off competition.  We would be glad to work with you on developing other fundraising opportunities for your team. Just give us a call!!
  • Spirit Money award will be presented to the Top 3 Teams that raise the most funds. Will your team be one of them?

We understand that participating in this event has other expenses such as chili ingredients and booth decorating supplies. Chili Cook-Off is 20% of our annual budget and the fundraising that comes out of it is a huge portion of that percentage. We are so appreciative of your participation and are very thankful for all fundraising that comes out of our signature event! 

Cancer Patient Services is the only local independent nonprofit agency that provides direct assistance to cancer patients. ​We couldn’t do the things we do without individuals like you and your team members!
